Stay in the know with our waxing blog.

Phew! It’s been an incredibly busy few weeks. I will be blogging all about the Tanasbourne process in the next few days. But today, I want to talk about something that is also near and dear to my heart: Italian Ice. That’s right people. It’s finally the summer in Portland.

Now, some of you will know exactly what Italian ice is. Growing up in New Jersey, Italian ice was served on the boardwalk, usually in little carts, and it was the best thing ever. It’s creamy, almost like an amazing sorbet, but there is no dairy in it. It comes in a ton of flavors, and really, it is pure summertime goodness. There is nothing like an Italian ice, (or water ice, depending on where you live), and it instantly reminds me of the Jersey shore, arcades, and fireflies.

So imagine my surprise when a few weeks ago my neighbor Candace came over with a tub of Italian ice. I was so excited, and had to understand where it had come from! Well guess where she gets it from: New Jersey! Yup, it’s true. Candace and her partner Blakely have started a business where they sell individual quarts, but even cooler, they have a cart and they will come to festivals, street fairs, and private events! The flavors are amazing: since Candace arrived with the initial cherry batch, I have eaten lemon (my favorite), watermelon (2nd favorite), mango and blue raspberry. They also have bubble gum, chocolate, strawberry, root beer and on and on. The best part about the ice, besides the fact that it tastes amazing, is that it has only 15 calories per ounce, no high fructose corn syrup, it’s fat and cholesterol free, and it’s vegan friendly! They only make one batch a day to be sure that the quality it perfect. It’s also pretty amazing/dangerous that they happen to live right next door to me. There’s nothing that screams pregnancy than me in my pajamas downing a quart of Italian ice and watching Lifetime movies. Don’t judge me people.

Anyhoo, if you would like more info on this fabulous product, or booking Candace and Blakely for your next event, email them at Blakely0623@me.com or Candacemccoy@me.com. They will get back to you within one business day. And please, tell them I sent you. I would like my referral fee to be paid in lemon!
