Stay in the know with our waxing blog.

Well, anyone who knows me can tell you that I love to work out and eat healthy…um, that was a lie. I HATE to work out and I would pretty much eat a shoe if it was deep fried with a side of ranch dressing. Over the course of my lifetime I have tried every diet from Weight Watchers to the Cabbage Soup Diet ( I know, I know). I have worked out with personal trainers, joined gyms, done yoga, bought exercise equipment and fitness videos, well, I have done it all. I have always had the habit of getting gung-ho for a little while, and then, well, off the wagon.

Well peeps, that’s all changed. A few months ago, a client came in that I hadn’t seen in a while. I commented on her ripped abs and defined legs. She told me about Recreate Fitness. While was chatting, I noticed a gleam in her eye, an excitement in her voice. It was like she was letting me in on a little secret. I was intrigued. So, I went home and looked at the website, and I studied their awesome blog. I was scared. It looked like everyone was so much more fit than me! However, Nathan and Tina Jeffers, who own Recreate, assured me that every session would be customized to my athletic ability (or lack thereof).
So, it’s been a month since my first foray into the wide world of 6:30 a.m. group workouts and I can tell you that I am completely and totally addicted. The classes are small, no more than 16 or so, they have classes all day, 6 days a week, and they use the cross-fit philosophy: basically kick your butt every day using gymnastics, kettle bells, running, rowing, rope climbing…you name it! Well, suffice it to say, I have NEVER been more sore in my entire life. But I also feel amazing. The people that are at Recreate, both the trainers and the members, are incredibly kind and supportive, and the workouts are actually a lot of fun. Plus, as I have stated ad nauseam, I LOVE a small business. What Nathan and Tina are doing is really something special, and their love for Recreate really shows.
So, if you see me limping…you’ll understand why!
