How many times am I going to start a blog the same way? Quite a few, it looks like, when it comes to the plethora of amazing Urban Waxx clients that we have that in turn have amazing businesses. I know that I have commented on this many times before, but what is the deal in Portland? Why are there so many cool women that own cool businesses? Is it the weather? The coffee? The food? Well, whatever the case may be, I am constantly meeting women that are involved with their own projects, and I always feel inspired and very “girl power” (not to make a lame Spice Girls reference, but you know what I mean).
Suzi Johnson is a lovely gal that found Urban Waxx through another lovely gal, Marywynn Ryan. Suzi owns the most fabulous store in NW Portland, Souchi. Souchi is a lovely store that has not only Souchi originals, which are luxurious knits made from cashmeres from loro piana, italian merinos, organic cottons from Tanzania, and gorgeous yarn blends of the finest silk, cotton, and cashmere, but there all also other really lovely designers. There are gorgeous bags, shoes, and accessories, as well as really beautiful individual pieces.
I have seen Marywynn sport the most fabulous knit Souchi dress on several occasions, and I am forever complementing her on it. She tells me “Wait until you pop that baby out, and get yourself down to Souchi.” I plan on doing just that. I love Souchi’s leg warmers and scarves, but what I am really crazy about is her unbelievably beautiful wrap sweaters. Perfect for a chilly Portland night!
